Akmel Nuri’s connection to his homeland and its revered coffee could not be broken.
Why we love this coffee
Though he spent years studying and working abroad, Akmel eventually returned to Limu, Ethiopia, in 2007 to establish Akmel Nuri Organic Coffee Farm, a mix of Ethiopian coffee tradition and innovative practices. The entire farm is organic certified, and all processing is done using the natural sun-dried method—Ethiopia’s oldest technique, and one that requires obsessive care to perfect.
Akmel and team create their own organic fertilizer and have set aside a portion of the farmland as forest. His commitment even extends to supporting additional construction on area schools, a sign of the dedication that makes his story, and his farm’s exceptional coffee, such an inspiration.
